Over the past seven years, Dublin have been the dominating force in GAA and during his time, Cian O’Sullivan has picked up six All Ireland winners medals. He gave his take on hearing that final whistle and the immediate aftermath that ensues.

“People have asked me that question a lot, like when that final whistle blows and you’re running around the pitch just any man you can find squeezing and hugging him, kissing him.”
“It drives you to react that way and it’s hard to wrap words around it, it’s just the most special feeling that you’ll ever experience in your life.”
“Going into the dressing room after and just having that moment with those guys that you’ve been in that circle with for however many months - you all know what you’ve done to get to that point and it is great sharing that moment of success with those guys.”
The All Ireland final is the biggest day in the career of any GAA player, and the celebrations don’t stop after the dressing room antics as Cian explains - including what he tries to do during the moments of celebration.
“After tha,t you know you are out to the formal stuff going back to your banquet [...] so you don’t actually get that moment back.”
“It’s just the thirty of forty players and backroom team in that little bubble, so that’s a really special moment.”
“Just incredible, incredible memories, I always try to get the phone and just video everything so that I have it saved but it is a really special place.”
