Jose Mourinho bans squad from playing Pokemon Go before games

Manchester United's pre-season hasn't quite gone to plan so far, and it looks as though Jose Mourinho is trying to stop any distractions from providing further bumps in the road.

After a heavy defeat to Borussia Dortmund and their game against Manchester City being canceled in Beijing due to poor weather, he is eager to make sure that his players get their tactics and fitness right before the Premier League season kicks off in a few weeks.

Coupled with making the right impact on the pitch, he has also been putting into place some rules for his players to follow off the field too.

According to The Daily Star, a source close to Mourinho said that, while he has been settling in well and is happy with his team, there is one area of concern that he has: Pokemon Go.

"Jose loves having a great relationship with his players and staff, and thinks it’s great for them to chill and relax away from training and games," said the source. "He’s still finding his way around Old Trafford and treading carefully.

"The only thing he has picked up on which he’s told the lads of is his concern about Pokémon. He says for 48 hours before a match he wants the guys to leave it alone and concentrate on the tactics he and his staff have been working on in the days before."

Manchester United's players aren't the only ones who are finding the game too hard to put down however, as tennis star Nick Kyrgios has been plugging away at it too.

There's a time and place to catch 'em all, it seems...
