LIST: The key moments which saved Ireland's Six Nations

In the 24,000 seconds of play that it took Ireland to go from winning in Rome to doing just enough at Murrayfield to win the Six Nations, there were plenty of moments which helped a second consecutive title come through.

Here are some of those crucial moments, and feel free to suggest your own.

Sin bin for Ghiraldini

The opening game against Italy was all about getting a win on the board. Ireland did not glitter, but got the job done in the 26-3 result in Rome.

However, it took until the second half for Ireland to finally break down the Azzurri and score tries. Significantly, the opening try by Conor Murray came a minute after Italy hooker Leonardo Ghiraldini was sin-binned for coming in from the side at a maul on 63 minutes.

And with Italy down to 14 men, Tommy O'Donnell also got over the try-line two minutes later to take advantage.

Parisse knock on

Italy were a little unlucky not to get a late try in Rome as Kelly Haimona ran over. But as the TMO showed, it was correctly ruled out for a finger-tip knock on by Italy captain Sergio Parisse. However, if he had not got a touch on it, crucial points difference could have been ceded.

Henshaw try

Tries are always vital, but in the England game, Robbie Henshaw's catch and effort from a Conor Murray kick into the corner, really proved to be the difference on the scoreboard in a landmark win as it left two scores between the sides and England with a mountain to climb. Indeed when you take into account the fact that Ireland won the Six Nations by six points, the seven points from this converted try made all the difference.

Heaslip tackle

Everything could have been lost with one slip in the dying moments against Scotland. But Jamie Heaslip, who had only returned to action from a serious back injury one game before, put his body on the line to put Stuart Hogg off as the Scot looked to score an almost certain try. Priceless!
