Leeds fans stage fake funeral for the clubs owner

A Leeds United supporters grouped held a fake funeral outside of Elland Road to protest against the club's owner, Massimo Cellino.

The group, called Time To Go Massimo, staged the stunt prior to their game with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, so they could mourn 'the death of the club we fell in love with.'

Spokesperson for the group, Tom Banks, also delivered a eulogy and placed white roses on the coffin used in the mock event.

A plane also flew over the ground during the first half of the Championship clash with Bolton, carrying a banner and echoing the fan's message.

There was also a wake held by fans who were boycotting the game in a pub opposite the stadium.

Leeds fans have grown weary with Cellino's management of the club, with current boss Steve Evans the sixth manager in two years to be at the helm under the Italian.

Despite the day's protests, Leeds defeated Bolton 2-1 thanks to two goals from Mirko Antenucci.
