Leicester have sacked manager Nigel Pearson in a surprise move.
The manager had led the Foxes to promotion last season and kept them up as they won seven of their last nine matches to finish 14th with a creditable 41 points.
However, the 51-year-old was involved in a number of high-profile incidents.
In February, he was involved in a touchline altercation with Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur, and was also critical of the comments of Match of the Day's pundits after the incident.
Two months later, he apologised to a journalist who he labelled an "ostrich" during a heated press conference.
In a statement, the club alluded to differences between the manager and the hierarchy:
"The Board of Directors recognises the success Nigel has helped to bring to Leicester City during his two spells in charge of the Club, particularly during the last three and a half years.
"However, it has become clear to the Club that fundamental differences in perspective exist between us. Regrettably, the Club believes that the working relationship between Nigel and the Board is no longer viable."
