Liverpool might have the chance to speak to Jürgen Klopp sooner rather than later

German football expert Raphael Honigstein believes Liverpool could have the chance to speak to former Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp as soon as November.

Speaking on the Guardian Football Weekly podcast, Honigstein said, "It's no secret by now that Liverpool have tried twice to get Klopp to take over.

"They didn't go for him in the summer when he was clearly available, so they stuck with Brendan Rodgers."

"I believe, and I have to say this isn't backed up by any hard facts, but there's a sense from talking to one or two people that maybe there's an opportunity to sit down and discuss things going forward, maybe in November.

"I'm not sure if that's directly related to what Liverpool are doing this season, or maybe it's for next season, or maybe it's just exploratory talks."

Honigstein said earlier in the summer that as far as emotional equals go, Liverpool and Dortmund were as close as you could get.

Honigstein said in the summer, "It would be very hard for Jurgen Klopp to turn Liverpool down."

With Liverpool drawing at home to Norwich bringing further pressure on the Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, Klopp might be getting a call sooner rather than later.

Opinion around the web is that Rodgers is most definitely on the hot seat.
