'Liverpool's saving grace could be that Man City might suffer'

Former Chelsea and Ireland defender Paddy Mulligan has tipped Arsenal to do well in the upcoming Premier League season and also feels that Manchester City are most vulnerable if Liverpool break into the Top Four.

Speaking to Oisin Langan and I on this week's Rewind podcast, he praised Arsenal's signature of goalkeeper Petr Cech and despite doubts about Liverpool, expects the Reds to improve on 2014-15.

"The jury in my head would still be out on Liverpool. I would expect them, with all the players that they have bought, to do an awful lot better than they did last year and I think their saving grace could be that Man City might be the one to suffer this coming season," said Paddy.

"I'm not so sure they're in the right zone at this moment in time and for a bit of a surprise package, perhaps Arsenal, not because they won the Community Shield on Sunday - that means nothing. I think Arsenal have done very well and they have got the signing of the season thus far in Petr Cech and if he can save them 15 or 16 goals a season, God knows how many points he can save them."
