Looks like Ireland are about to attain one of England's promising youngsters

The FAI are close to bringing exciting Arsenal youngster Dan Crowley into the Republic of Ireland fold.

That's according to The Irish Times, who say that the 18-year-old, who has represented both England U16, U17 and U19s as well as Ireland's U17s is close to agreeing to a switch to the green shirt at U21 level.

Crowley, who is highly rated at the Emirates and earned comparisons to Jack Wilshere, has been impressing on loan at Barnsely where he has made six league appearances in League One.

The ex-Aston Villa youth team player first came to prominence on these shores just over 18 months ago after a superb individual performance in an FA Youth Cup tie.
