Manny Pacquiao says he'll be headed back to the ring in March

Manny Pacquaio has hinted that he will be back in the ring by March of 2016, after recovering from surgery.

The boxer was speaking in New York as he was accepting an award, and said that he was "80 to 90% healed" after surgery to repair his rotator cuff, an injury which was believed to have hindered his performance against Floyd Mayweather in their fight earlier this year.

Pacquiao is now 36-years-old and doesn't plan on fighting for much longer, but is eyeing at least one more fight as he told the New York Daily Post that he believes he "can start training in November or December so I can fight early next year".

There had been speculation that the boxer would once again face Mayweather, after their in May earned plenty of money for both parties, but Mayweather has since retired with an undefeated professional record of 49-0, and might not fancy putting it all on the line, no matter how big the paycheck is.

The prospect of facing Amir Khan was brought up, but the Filipino boxer refused to be drawn on whether or not that would be the next bout on his card.
