Martin O'Neill has an update on the promising Dan Crowley

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has named a provisional 40-man squad for next month's pivotal Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Seamus Coleman is included after his Everton manager Roberto Martinez revealed his hamstring injury was not as bad as first feared.

The uncapped trio of Adam Rooney, Eunan O'Kane and Alan Judge are again included.

The squad will be whittled down again before October 4th, with Germany and Poland on the horizon.

O'Neill also confirmed he has spoken to the father of promising Arsenal teenager, Daniel Crowley.

The midfielder has represented both England and Ireland at underage level, and is currently on loan at Barnsley, and last week it emerged that he was considering a switch to Ireland at under-21 grade.
