Missed any of today's football action? Here's your Premier League Round-Up

Eight games this afternoon for your delectation, a feast of goals and some late drama in the day's Premier League fixtures.

We begin at St Mary's, where Leicester City continued their truly remarkable start to the season (really) as they drew 2-2 with Southampton.

The home side took the lead after 21 minutes, Jose Fonte timed his run to the front post to perfection to head his side in front.

Virgil van Dijk then got in on the act in the 37th minute, his header denied but made no mistake second time round and prodded home the rebound.

As is the characteristic of this new look Leicester side, they just don't now when to quit and their leading scorer this season has been turning everything in his path to goals rather than gold.

With just over 20 minutes remaining Vardy rose highest to nod home and give his side a lifeline. The Foxes had of course come from two goals down to beat Aston Villa and draw with Stoke City in recent weeks.

In the dying seconds Vardy completed his brace, his shot rifeld into the top corner to give the Leicester a share of the spoils.

Manchester City, it turns out, were well prepared for life without David Silva and Sergio Aguero as they ran out 5-1 winners at home to Bournemouth.

Wilfried Bony's first goals for the club since May were only overshadowed by Raheem Sterling's hat-trick and Manuel Pellegrini's side looked more than comfortable throughout.

The Chilean will hope to eradicate the goals being conceded, but will be happy with his stand-in play maker and lone frontman getting to grips with their new found responsibility.

Eddie Howe's side will have little to complain about, but lessons will need to be learned and results will have to come soon, having picked up only two wins so far this season.

Tim Sherwood is feeling the heat at Aston Villa and his side are continuing to look for their first league victory since the opening day of the season, slumping to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho put his most recent controversies behind him and redeployed Diego Costa once again, the Spaniard proving his worth after 34 minutes. Willian pounced on some sloppy Villa defending and Costa was on hand for the simplest of tap-ins.

Alan Hutton only added to Sherwood's misery, his second-half own goal enough to kill off any hope of a revival from the visitors.

Everton are struggling to maintain any sort of consistency in the Premier League and this afternoon proved no different.

Following a comprehensive defeat at the hands of Arsenal, Louis van Gaal changed his line-up and Manchester United ran out 3-0 winners at Goodison Park.

Two elder statesmen in midfield in the form of Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger was the chink in the armour at the Emirates. Merely an oversight it seems, Morgan Schneiderlein's inclusion in today's starting  XI paying dividends early on.

The Frenchman opened the scoring on 18 minutes before Ander Herrera made the most of a rare starting spot to double the visitor's advantage four minutes later.

Everton old boy Wayne Rooney completed the scoring with five minutes remaining to leave Roberto Martinez scratching his head and wondering what he needs to do to maintain any form of consistency in his side's performances.

West Ham seem more comfortable on the road, this due to the fact that they've now picked up 13 of their 17 points away from home.

Crystal Palace are the latest notch on Slaven Bilic's belt, the Hammers running out 3-1 winners at Selhurst Park.

Yohan Cabaye on the scoresheet again but his penalty was not enough to spare his side defeat and after Dwight Gayles second half red card, West Ham struck late twice to put the polish on the scoreline.

Manuel Lanzini with the winner before Dmitri Payet could rub additional salt in the wound.

Sam Allardyce's opening game in charge of Sunderland ended in a 1-0 defeat away to West Brom, courtesy of a Saido Berahino goal, while in the day's early game it finished scoreless between Tottenham and Liverpool at White Hart Lane.

UPDATE: Arsenal have given their title chances a further boost with a 3-0 win over Watford at Vicarage Road. Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Grioud and Aaron Ramsey leaves Arsene Wenger's side two points adrift of league leaders Manchester City alongside Manchester United.
