Morning Bulletin: Headlines from the Sports Desk

GOLF

Padraig Harrington is just a shot off the lead as play gets underway on Day 3 of the Irish Open.

Harrington will play alongside England's Luke Donald today at Royal County Down as they both resume on 2-under par and just behind the group of six players that share the lead.

Soren Kjeldsen, Richie Ramsay, Chris Wood, Tyrrell Hatton, Rafael Cabrera-Bello and Bernd Wiesberger are all on 3-under.

Harrington had led by five shots at one point yesterday before a disastrous run of bogeys on his back nine.

SOCCER

Arsenal will look to retain the FA Cup this evening as they face Aston Villa in this year's Wembley final.

Irish international Shay Given is hoping to start in goal for Villa after a recent groin injury, while Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has to decide between Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud as his starting striker.

There is also Cup action today in Scotland and here at home in the FAI Cup.

Inverness and Falkirk contest the Scottish Cup Final, which kicks-off at 3pm today.

And there is more second round action today in the FAI Cup.

Killester United host Cobh Ramblers in the early kick-off at Haddon Park at 2.30pm.

Later tonight, Athlone Town face Liffey Wanderers from 7.45pm.

RUGBY

Munster are targeting their fourth league title this evening as they travel to Belfast to face last years beaten finalists, the Glasgow Warriors in the Guinness Pro12 Grand Final.

Having not won the title since 2011, the Munster faithful will also be hoping to give Paul O'Connell a winning send off, amid reports that the Ireland captain is set to join European champions Toulon after this year's World Cup.

GAA

The Christy Ring Cup semi-finals are down for decision today.

Kildare will host Kerry at Newbridge from 2pm, while there's a 3.30pm start at Owenbeg where Ulster rivals Derry and Down go head-to-head.

That game at Owenbeg will be preceded by the Ulster Minor quarter-final between Derry and Donegal at 1.45pm.

There are also two matches in the fifth round of the Lory Meagher Cup.

Sligo face Fermanagh in Tubbercurry, while Warwickshire clash with Lancashire at Pairc na hEireann.

Both matches will throw-in at 3.30pm.

TENNIS

Novak Djokovic, Rafa Nadal, Serena Williams and Andy Murray are all in action today at the French Open.

Williams is facing the toughest challenge in her third round match as the women's top seed goes up against former finalist, Victoria Azarenka at Roland Garros.

RACING

The racing today is at Navan and Tramore.

The first of seven races at Navan goes to post at 1.55pm, while there's evening racing on offer in County Waterford where the opening race at Tramore gets underway at 5pm.
