Mystic Mc: Dave McIntyre shares his 2020 vision for the Dubs

Dave McIntyre showed his 2020 vision when he took a peak into the future to predict how Dublin might line-up for the 2020 All Ireland SFC final. Dave debated for hours and compiled a list of most likely starters for the 2020 decider, a likely 15 point win over Kerry.

As the least Dublin loathing member of team OTB, Dave was tasked with compiling the list. He reckons Stephen Cluxton will guide Dublin to a 6th All Ireland title in a row at the ripe old age of 38; Eoin Murchan will hit his peak at 24 and will be partnered with the elder statesman in his Na Fianna club mate Jonny Cooper, who will just have hit the dirty thirties.

Although many football followers will attest that Cooper was dirty long before thirty, the Na Fianna man will be partnered by David Byrne who’ll have just turned 26. Assuming Jack Mc doesn’t catch another dose of the travel bug, our Mystic Mc reckons the rocket will still be firing from wing back.

Ballymun Kickham’s defender John Small will marshals the defense from centre half back, in the off chance that he finishes a game without being sent off, Brian Howard will complete the half-back line.

Brian Fenton will be the man running the show in the middle, by 2020 the Raheny man is now 6 years unbeaten, he hasn’t tasted defeat in 41 championship matches. He’ll have James McCarthy for company, instead of experiencing a decline in his power, by 2020 McCarthy will be faster and fitter than he was as a minor.

It’ll have taken 5 years, but Cormac Costello will finally be a starter, Con O’Callaghan will be the focal point of the attack and he’ll be flanked by Niall Scully, who by 2020 will be closing in on the championship goal record with 30 goals in Championship in 3 years.

Reigning, defending, undisputed Footballer of the Year Ciaran Kilkenny is hoping to take the top individual honour in the game for the third year in a row, he’ll be positioned at the edge of the square alongside Paul Mannion, which will lessen Dublin's chances of inflicting death by lateral passing. The most electrifying free taker in gaelic football... do you smell what Dean Rock is cooking? Well he'll be there, kicking frees for fun. Sorry everybody. Dublin own the football, nobody else can play with it.
