Nigel Owens to preside over Ireland's most crucial World Cup pool game

Nigel Owens will take charge of Ireland's pool match against France at this year's Rugby World Cup.

The Welsh referee has been entrusted with the game which could prove to be the deciding match in Pool D.

New Zealand ref Glenn Jackson will be in the middle for Ireland's opening game against Canada, while South African Craig Joubert will referee the game against Romania.

Frenchman Jerome Garces will officiate the clash with Six Nations rivals Italy.
