OTB AM Sports Round-Up: Connolly unavailable for selection, no homecoming bout for Katie Taylor, snooker's golden era

Fresh off the presses, today's backpages headlines are out and we've some piping hot takes ready to go.

Risteard Cooper filled in for the still absent Eoin Sheahan this morning, and the actor and comedian joined Adrian Barry as the pair ran their eyes through the best of the newspaper stories this morning.

There's talk of fixture changes in the GAA and Pro14 as both organisations are currently set to clash with Liverpool and Real Madrid's Champions League final, while the lads also chat about the lack of a homecoming bout for Katie Taylor and why that potential fight appears to still be a while away yet.

Risteard was in the Irish Times this morning with a column about the golden days of snooker, so we've some chat about the days of old in the crucible and where you can actually watch the sport these days.

There's Dublin GAA in the form of Jim Gavin's comments regarding Diarmuid Connolly not currently being available for selection in either code for club or county.

Arsene Wenger saw his side lose in a particularly Arsenal fashion as they crashed out of Europe thanks to a 1-0 at the hands of Atletico Madrid, so there's no way we skip that, likewise the story of the week, I.E. Joey Carbery's club future, gets a going over because how could we not?

All that and loads more on Friday's Backpages, and remember you can watch OTB AM live every weekday from 7.45AM on our FacebookYouTube and Periscope channels.
