Rickie Fowler wins in Boston as Spieth returns to World Number One

Rickie Fowler won his second tournament of the season last night winning the Deutsche Bank Championship, as he moved into the top three three of the FedEx Cup standings with just two tournaments remaining.

The 26 year old beat Henrik Stenson by a stroke at TPC Boston after the Swede double bogeyed the 16th hole.

Fowler's win comes after he won The Players earlier this summer and caps off an impressive year for American who guaranteed his place on the Presidents Cup team in Korea.

Despite missing the cut in Boston, Jordan Spieth returns to the top of the World Rankings after Rory McIlroy finished in a tie for 29th place on -3.

In a quirk to the World Rankings system, with neither man playing this week, McIlroy is guaranteed to return to the top of the World Rankings next Monday.
