Saturday Night Takeaways: Iheanacho impresses for Man City, Arsenal remain on course for a three-peat

There were no major shocks in the FA Cup today as 11 teams booked their place in the Fifth Round. No Premier Division teams lost to lower league opposition but West Brom must face Peterborough in a replay after the sides drew 2-2 at The Hawthorns.

From Manchester City's new homegrown star to Arsenal's quest for history, here are the main talking points from Saturday's action.

Homegrown Kel Iheanacho impresses for City

Manchester City may have found themselves a homegrown star. Since the side was taken over by Sheikh Mansour, City have enticed stars to the Etihad Stadium but have failed to produce any stars from their famed academy

Kel Iheanacho scored a hat-trick today for City as the defeated Aston Villa 4-0 at Villa Park. The Nigerian international has forced his way into Manuel Pellegrini's squad this year and he looks set to stay there.

Millions has been pumped into City's academy and if the Manchester side produce more stars like Iheanacho their future will look very bright.

Arsenal remain on course for a FA Cup three-peat

Blackburn Rovers are the last team to win the FA Cup three times in a row. The Lancashire side won the trophy from 1884-86 and Arsenal remain on course to match that fabled side.

Arsene Wenger's side defeated Championship Burnley 2-1 but struggled for times in the game to match their opponents. Calum Chambers scored the games opening goal with a finish Lionel Messi would have been proud of.

Alexis Sanchez scored the winner for Arsenal early in the second half as Wenger's side held out for a win. Arsenal now lie only four wins from their three-in-a-row.

Arsenal's last FA Cup defeat came to Blackburn in February 2013. It would be fitting it The Gunners matched the record.

Unwanted FA Cup extra-time for Liverpool

The FA Cup has not been a friend to Jurgen Klopp since arriving at Liverpool. The German manager has spoken about his surprise at the amount of games that are played in England.

After Exeter took Liverpool to a replay in the Third Round, West Ham did the same on Saturday, meaning Liverpool face the trip south to Upton Park.

Liverpool dominated parts of the game and only for three quick saves from Irish goalkeeper Darren Randolph they may have booked their place in the Fifth Round.

If Liverpool are to reach the FA Cup final, like they have with the League Cup, they will have done so by taking the long route.
