Some brilliant goals you may have missed from the weekend's football

With the return of the Premier League this weekend, a few other brilliant goals from around the rest of the footballing world may have escaped your attention.

In Spain, Real Socided took on Atletico Madrid in a friendly, a game that Diego Simeone's men ended up winning by a score of 2-0. One of the goals was this rather superb team effort that ended in a well placed volley from Antoine Girezmann.

In Scotland, Celtic got a 2-0 win against Partick Thistle (and their terrifying mascot) and while we're not sure that the first touch here was definitely deliberate, the finish from Tom Rogić was a brilliant instinctive piece of skill.

In the Eredivisie, Ajax's Anwar El Gahzi opened the scoring for his side against AZ with a stunning strike that left the despairing goalkeeper with absolutely no chance.

It was also opening day in Ligue 1 this weekend, and Toulouse got off to a winning start, thanks in part to Martin Braithwaite's beautifully struck free kick

Manchester City's Toni Duggan scored yet another screamer this weekend, just shortly after picking up the club's goal of the season award. She may just have put her name back in the hat for the next one with a strike like this too.

Finally, one of the stranger events of the weekend took place int he game between Doncaster and Bury, where Harry Forrester tried to play the ball back to the Bury keeper after one of their players had been down receiving treatment, but accidentally scored an amazing lob in the process. Manager Paul Dickov instructed his side to let Bury get the equalizer, which Leon Clarke duly did completely unchallenged.
