Son shines at White Hart Lane as Spurs win all three points

It took a 68th minute Heung-Min Son goal to break the dealock between Tottenham Hotspurs and Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in Sunday's early kick-off.

Spurs started the game sitting dangerously close to the relegation zone and with just six points from their opening five games needed a win at home against a possible rival for a European place. Palace, on the other hand, had nine points from their opening five fixtures and have really begun a resurgence since Alan Pardew took over as manager of the team.

Spurs dominated most of the first half and tested McCarthy quite regularly but it was Palace who entered the dressing room at half-time with their tails up. Yohan Cabaye rattled the post just before the break and it looked as though Palace were settling comfortably into the game at that point.

Spurs had the ball in Palace's net with a Ben Davies header on 60 minutes but Harry Kane was adjudged to have been offside in the buildup.

The game was poised for a moment of inspiration and Son offered that with just 22 minutes to go. Son's goal came after Hugo Lloris palmed an excellent Bacary Sako shot that could have easily been a goal onto the post to further inflict pain on the travelling Crystal Palace support.

Son can be happy with his performance and is proving to be a good purchase following his summer move from Bayer Leverkusen.
