Sunday Night Takeaways: Klopp's record with Liverpool is an eye opener while Arsenal injury woes continue

There were four games in the Premier League on Sunday starting with Spurs and Chelsea drawing 0-0 in the noon kickoff. That was followed up by a 1-1 draw between West Ham and West Brom. To finish the day, Liverpool beat Swansea 1-0 thanks to a James Milner penalty while Arsenal could only manage a point against Norwich.

There was not much gleaned from the first game but there are some talking points from the other games.

1) Arsenal injury troubles are only beginning

If you thought Arsenal had reached their quota of bad luck with the injuries to Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin, you can add Laurent Koscielny and Alexis Sanchez to the growing list of Arsene Wenger's growing list of casualties

Sanchez had a hamstring strain before the game that Wenger decided to gamble on given the Chilean's influence on the side. It was a risk that did not pay off given Sanchez' peripheral performance and his subsequent substitution in the 60th minute. Laurent Koscielny also went off after just 11 minutes with what looked like some kind of a hip injury. There is no word yet on the severity of either player's injury.

2) Klopp makes Liverpool competitive again

Jurgen Klopp has lost just one game since taking over as the manager of Liverpool. His side played three games in seven days and won all three as they continue to improve under the German's watch. Last week's performance against City was top quality but grinding out a result against Swansea can be considered just as important following their strenuous week.

They currently sit just two points behind Spurs and four points behind a struggling Arsenal. It might not be times to appoint them genuine title challengers but under Klopp, it appears as though they are capable of competing at the very top of the league.

3) Diego Costa is not happy at Chelsea

After having words with his manager at half time of their Champions League game on Tuesday night against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Diego Costa was dropped for their visit to Spurs on Sunday afternoon.

The Spanish striker was warming up for most of the game but was not chosen to be brought on to find the winner for his side. He responded by throwing his bib in the air in a childish manner.

Costa is a hothead at the best of times but this appears to be quite a blatant sign of disrespect against his manager. Mourinho went to smooth things over after the game by rejecting the idea that there had been a falling out between himself and Costa.
