Six separate acts of terrorism have resulted in the deaths of some 128 people in Paris.
The level of violence is considered to be the worst that has hit France since World War II and the French President Francois Hollande has declared the country to be in a state of emergency.
Shootings took place at restaurants as well as at concert hall where a number of people were held hostage and an estimated 100 people were killed inside.
Two suicide bombings also took place at the Stade de France stadium, where France and Germany were playing out a friendly fixture in front of several spectators including the President, who was subsequently evacuated. Three people reportedly died in these attacks while the fans poured onto the pitch as the news spread.
