'Tense and memorable' - Glenn Ryan and O'Cinneide rekindle Kerry v Kildare '98

"It was tense. I would say from my own personal opinion, it was probably the most memorable of all those games."

And judging from his emotional reaction to victory against Kerry in 1998's All-Ireland semi-final, ex-Kildare star Glenn Ryan was not joking tonight as he joined Off The Ball and former Kingdom forward Dara O'Cinneide to look back on that fixture which had its fair share of undercurrents like the battle between managers Paidi O'Se and Mick O'Dwyer.

Ryan also said that putting a young Dermot Eerley into midfield and Ken Doyle in the team was "Micko's greatest move in his time in Kildare".

Both men also looked ahead to this weekend's clash between Kerry and Kildare in the All-Ireland quarter-final.
