The Final Whistle: Cork's teams for both codes named

GAA

The Cork hurlers and footballers have named their teams ahead of this weekend's Championship action.

Rebels hurling manager Jimmy Barry Murphy has made just one change in personnel ahead of their All-Ireland quarter-final against Galway at Semple Stadium on Sunday.

Shane O'Neill returns to the Cork full-back line after missing their qualifier win over Clare through injury.

O'Neill's inclusion sees a number of positional switches as Aidan Walsh moves into midfield and Alan Cadogan is the player who has to make way.

Meanwhile, the Cork footballers have named Eoin Cadogan in midfield for Saturday's Round 4A qualifier against Kildare at Semple Stadium.

Cadogan missed last weekend's Munster final replay defeat to Kerry with a hamstring injury, but he has been named in the side instead of the injured Paddy Kelly.

There is also a change in attack as Colm O'Driscoll starts instead of Brian Hurley, while Paul Kerrigan and Donncha O'Connor have been moved closer to goal.

SOCCER

UCD and Shamrock Rovers have been knocked out of Europe tonight.

The two clubs were both well beaten in their Europa League qualifiers to complete a disappointing week for the Airtricity League clubs.

UCD conceded three goals in the closing 10 minutes as they were beaten 5-1 in Belfield, slumping to a 6-1 aggregate defeat to Slovan Bratislava.

Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers lost 2-1 tonight against Odds in Norway.

Gavin Brennan's late goal was no more than a consolation for the Hoops as they were beaten 4-1 across both legs.

GOLF

Des Smyth and Philip Walton are both six shots off the lead on 1-over par at the British Seniors Open in Sunningdale.

The pair both carded opening rounds of 71.

Bernhard Langer and Miguel Angel Jimenez are among a group of players who are tied for the lead on 5-under.

Meanwhile, Grégory Havret of France holds a one-shot lead from 7-under par at the European Open in Switzerland.

Michael Hoey is on 5-under par after a round of 65, while Peter Lawrie is on 3-under.
