And there was plenty of stories to discuss in the NFL with the Washington Redskins passing up the opportunity to sign Colin Kaepernick despite struggling with a quarter-back injury crisis and this week's news that Kareem Hunt has been released by the Kansas City Chiefs and placed on the NFL's commissioner exempt list after video emerged of a violent incident showing him pushing and kicking a woman at a Cleveland hotel earlier this year.
