The Weekend In Numbers: Benteke breaks "record" and a goal-fest between Man City and Arsenal?

Another Premier League weekend approaches and there is plenty to look forward tp.

Here are a few numbers behind Chelsea's trip to Crystal Palace, the mouth-watering clash between Manchester City and Arsenal, and Man United's visit to in form West Brom.

Benteke's just what Crystal Palace needed

As Chelsea head to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace, the Blues have a truly in-form striker in the shape of Diego Costa.

But Crystal Palace finally have a centre forward capable of finding the net regularly.

That has been a problem for the club since their return to the top flight in 2013-14. That season, Dwight Gayle and Jason Puncheon were joint-top scorers for the Eagles in the Premier League with seven.

Glenn Murray scored the same number to finish top of the goal charts for Palace the following season.

And then 2015-16 saw four players top score with five goals each, including centre back Scott Dann. Conor Wickham was the only striker in that quartet, which was also populated by Yannick Bolasie and Yohan Cabaye.

This season though, Benteke has broken the modest record of seven goals already after just 16 games of the 2016-17 season. He has eight Premier League goals this season, including four goals from the last four games.

With Palace's defence leaking goals of late, Benteke will need to maintain that form even if he will find it hard to get a sniff against a mean Chelsea defence on Saturday.

Rondon's heading in the right direction

In the midweek action, Salomon Rondon joined Big Duncan Ferguson as the only Premier League players to have netted a hat-trick of headers.

Rondon used his head to good effect to lead West Brom to a 3-1 win over Swansea.

Up against Manchester United this weekend, the Venezuelan has scored a total of nine headed goals since moving to the Premier League.

That's just over half of his total of 16.

Goals galore as City meet Arsenal?

Manchester City have not beaten Arsenal since the 2013-14 season, home or away.

The Gunners have won three - including a Community Shield match - and drawn three since City's last win in this match-up.

They have home advantage on Sunday but one thing that could almost be guaranteed is goals in this fixture.

In the last six league fixtures, a total of 24 goals have been scored between the two teams so expect excitement at the Etihad.
