"To put in an effort like that and a finish like that is unbelievable"

Munster scrum-half Conor Murray has praised Andrew Conway for his 76th minute game winning try for Munster against three-time European Cup champions Toulon.

Speaking to Off The Ball's Oisin Langan directly after the 20-19 victory, Murray said that Conway's performance and impact in his return from injury was a massive part of the win in a game that was played at a frantic pace.

"That was mental. It ebbed and flowed, they had their moments, we had our moments, and at the end I thought it could have been gone, only for for Andrew Conway with an unbelievable finish".

"He's a player who's struggled over the last few months with injury and was touch and go for this game, and to come back and play 80 minutes, and in the 76th minute to put in an effort like that and a finish like that is unbelievable".

Murray noted the intensity Toulon came back with in the second half, going 19-13 ahead having been down 10-6 at the half, which was something they had expected.

"I think half-time allows teams to refocus, obviously to catch your breath and come out with a new lease of life and a new bit of energy. We knew they'd be trying to do that, so obviously it was really important for us to start that half well"

"The longer we stick in a game the more belief we'll have and that was evident out there today, particularly in the first ten minutes of the second half".

Murray wouldn't be drawn on talk of winning the tournament because of the early stages, instead noting the areas they can improve on having come through such a tough test.

"There's an awful long way to go. It's a lot of players' dream to win a european cup, but to grind out a game like that and front up the way we did...it's not a perfect game. We made mistakes, they made mistakes, initially after the game I think we can improve".
