Tommy O'Donnell signs new three year deal with Munster

Tommy O'Donnell suffered a horrific hip dislocation that ruled him out of the World Cup. He returned to training just a couple of weeks ago as he stepped up his rehab and today he signed a new three year deal that will keep him at Thomond Park until June 2019.

O'Donnell is delighted with his new deal, "I am delighted to sign up for a further three years with my home club. In committing for such a period I can focus on the job at hand, getting back to full fitness, while knowing I have the opportunity to make a difference and help towards shaping the future of this squad.”

The 28-year old flanker from Tipperary is set to return to the field in the new year from his hip injury. He will be keen to add to his 101 appearances for Munster.

Head Coach Anthony Foley is also delighted with the news, "“We all know what Tommy is capable of here, and as a dynamic and powerful player we look forward to seeing him back on the pitch soon. He leads this group through his work ethic and professional approach so to have someone with those values continue with us bodes well for the future.”
