Aston Villa are reportedly the target of a new takeover bid.
Former Arsenal and England defender Tony Adams and former Chelsea business director Paul Smith are believed to be part of a consortium that have tabled a bid of £150M for the struggling Premier League club, which was put up for sale last May by owner, Randy Lerner.
Villa boss Tim Sherwood has denied any knowledge of the sale and says that Lerner has given him no indication that he has lost any enthusiasm for the club.
"If the club's up for sale a decision will be made if a fee is agreed but Randy has given me no indication he's lost any enthusiasm for this job. He's excited about what's happening at the moment," said Sherwood, who has led Villa to this season's FA Cup final against Adam's former club Arsenal.
