Transfer Roundup: Everton slap huge price tag on Stones & Berbatov back to the Premier League

Everton have told defender Jon Stones that he can leave the club, but only at the right price. Given that Chelsea are the team interested in signing him however, that price was never going to be cheap, and it seems that the magic number for the Toffees is £34 million. If they meet that, they'll get their man, but it seems that Baba Rahman is also on their radar. Augsberg are believed to be holding out for £21 million, having rejected an offer of £17.5 million.

Kevin De Bruyne and Manchester City are once again in the headlines, and another big figure is being touted about by the Bundesliga side, who inisist that unless they get £45 million, he won't be going anywhere. However, City are believed to finally be willing to fork over the cash in order to have him in their ranks ahead of their clash against his former team Chelsea.

Former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov is rumoured to be on his way back to the Premier League, and while Aston Villa had been in talks with him, West Ham are now the club that are leading the way to sign the striker, who is without a team after leaving Monaco. West Ham are also believed to be close to a £12 million deal for Javier Hernandez, who has rejected a move to Los Angeles Galaxy.

According to the rumours, West Ham will be very busy before the window closes, as they've tabled a £10.5 million bid Islam Slimani from Sporting Lisbon, and have renewed their interest in Fabio Borini from Liverpool.

With the David De Gea saga rumbling on, the goalkeeper watched his side's win from the stands yesterday in the opening game of the new season. He more or less looks like he might be on his way to Real Madrid, but there's renewed talk that Sergio Ramos could be going the other way, as his contract talks with the Spanish giants have stalled. They won't sell him on the cheap however, as they would be looking for £58 million. Ajax manager Frank de Boer has also told Van Gaal that he'll need to have plenty of spare cash if he wants to solve his goalkeeping problems with Dutchman Jasper Cillessen, whose price tag is increasing by the day.

In other news, Sunderland are closing in on a deal for Adnan Januzaj; Liverpool are having a difficult time offloading Balotelli, who has been rejected by four different Serie A clubs; Aaron Lennon looks set to reject a move to Aston Villa in order to return to Everton again having spent last season on loan there; QPR are willing to accept £13 million for Charlie Austin provided that they get all the money up front; and Joey Barton may end up playing for Norwich, after he was released by QPR back in May.
