Transfer Talk: Draxler's move to Arsenal finally looks to be off

German World Cup-winner Julian Draxler has been told he will not be allowed leave Wolfsburg, hampering any potential move to Arsenal.

The 22-year-old is a longtime target of Arsene Wenger. Arsenal missed out on signing Draxler last summer when he left boyhood-team Schalke 04 to join their Bundesliga rivals. Metro reports that Wolfsburg have released a statement claiming Draxler will not be sold this summer, but is more than likely to leave the club in 12 months time.

Sunderland manager David Moyes is prepared to outbid his old club Everton to try and buy Liverpool striker Christian Benteke. Moyes has made a striker his main priority ahead of the start of the season according to the Daily Mirror and could have to pay £30million for the Belgian striker.

Everton are also preparing to make a bid for the striker from their local rivals Liverpool. Not since 2002 has a player crossed Stanley Park to make the move from one side to another. Benteke will only join Everton is the club sell Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Jonas Hector, one of the stars of Germany's Euro 2016 campaign, could be on the move to the Premier League. The Daily Mail claim that the Köln defender is a target for Jurgen Klopp to try and solve his problem at left-back. The 26-year-old could join before the start of the season as first-choice Alberto Moreno is struggling to be fit for the opening weekend.

Republic of Ireland underage international Ryan Sweeney may be about to make the move from AFC Wimbledon to the Premier League to join Stoke City. Local newspaper The Stoke Sentinel state the 19-year-old will join for a reported £250,000 amid interest from both Tottenham and West Ham.
