Shane Lowry is the only Irish golfer currently inside the projected cut mark of 1-over at the US Open as Day 2 unfolds.
The Offaly man is 1-over after completing his second round at Erin Hills. He followed his 71 from yesterday with a 74 on Day 2.
Lowry had a poor front nine, which featured four bogeys and a birdie.
Rory McIlroy is further back on 5-over and will miss the cut after carding a 71 in his second round.
The Northern Irishman managed five birdies but also bogeyed four holes on Day 2 which was a vast improvement on his first round 78.
Paul Dunne is one shot ahead of McIlroy on 4-over but he is only seven holes into his second round, bogeying two and picking up a sole birdie.
Meanwhile, Graeme McDowell is also in the midst of his second round and is currently one shot clear of Dunne on 3-over but also sitting outside the cut mark.
At the top of the leaderboard at present are Rickie Fowler and Brooks Koepka on 8-under, although both have yet to complete their rounds.
England's Paul Casey is a shot further back on 7-under after carding a 71 to follow up yesterday's 66.
