VIDEO: Belgian team win rugby match 356-3

A rugby game in Belgium ended with a record-breaking score of 356-3 this weekend.

In the top-flight fixture, Royal Kituro ran in 56 tries and 38 conversions against Soignies, who could only manage a measly drop goal.

According to the BBC, the reason behind the spectacular scoreline is that the referee had failed to turn up on time, resulting in many of the Soignies players and their coach leaving.

When the referee did arrive, the remaining players elected to play for a loser's point rather than receive no points at all.

From the video, there appear to be 12 players on the pitch for the away team, and none seem very bothered with stopping the opposition from reaching the try-line.

President of Soignies Guy Calomme described the match as "catastrophic", while a spokesperson from Royal Kituro acknowledged that their opponents "didn't really play".

Despite the result, Soingies remain second in the league table, with an impressive points difference of -264.
