While warming up during Manchester City’s visit to Stoke City last week, Frank Lampard came in for some choice words from the home fans. At first it was the ire of just a few disgruntled but dedicated individuals, but soon it was spreading to the entire crowd.
But as this clip shows us, with things like this, some moments are better than others...
After the game Stoke manager Mark Hughes praised the “class” of Lampard, after the City man gave his shirt to Stoke Premier League debutant Oliver Shenton, who came on in the final few moments. Shenton’s mother had died just a few days earlier and Lampard ensured the teenager got his jersey.
