WATCH: Barry Hearn advises Katie Taylor to keep her camp small, after pro debut

Katie Taylor's professional career is taking place under the guidance of promoter Eddie Hearn.

The Matchroom Sports boss took charge of the company after his father Barry moved on to become the boss of the PDC and World Snooker. Despite Barry's focus, leaning away from boxing, he still took time to speak to Taylor last weekend after her professional debut.

iFL TV have released footage of Taylor, in her dressing room after defeating Karina Kopinska at Wembley Arena, speaking to a very impressed Hearn. The 68-year-old complemented Taylor on her win saying she "looked like a pro", even mentioning other fighter's reactions to the win.

He then gave the Bray boxer some telling advice, as she recovered from her opening win.

"With all this, everyone slapping you on the back, feet on the ground, young lady. There's a long way to go. Listen to the people around you. Keep the camp small. Two [manager Brian Peters and trainer Ross Enamait] is fine and your mom, that's perfect. You don't need anybody else."

"I'm excited... Goodness me... I enjoyed it because I see all these noughts in the distance and they're getting closer. And that at the end of the day, that's what boxing's all about. It's a great sport but you look at that house on the hill and you say 'I've got six more like this somewhere' - then you know you've been successful."

Then pointing to his son Eddie, the older Hearn in his own unique way advised Taylor to stick with Matchroom Sports.

"He'll make you the money. I'm sure of that, because he's a mercenary bastard."

Taylor returns to the ring when she fights Brazil's Viviane Obenauf in Manchester on December 10th.
