WATCH: Things got heated between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez as he snatches the belt

On Saturday, Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez will trade blow physically at Madison Square Gardens.

But as is customary in the UFC, the two had to sit in close proximity and trade verbal blows at the pre-fight press conference.

As always, McGregor had plenty to say about his opponent, often in colourful terms.

"I predict I rearrange his face. He's too easily hit," said the Dubliner of Alvarez, before echoing a point made on Newstalk last night in the pre-fight preview.

"Through all the talking and through everything else, he can be hit too easily. It's happened to him his whole career.

"If you're talking about someone with the precision I have, I'm going to hit, he's going to fall. Maybe if his toughness holds up, he'll survive. But then his face will begin to be rearranged."

He then predicted that it could be over in one round but if he can "drag it into the trenches", it could last longer.

And answering a question about potentially fighting Nate Diaz in the third part of a trilogy at UFC209, McGregor did not rule it out, saying: "Possibly, who knows. I'm the most active guy up here and that's a fact. So we'll see."

And things got pretty heated at one point as McGregor picked up Alvarez's ligthweight belt on his way in and took it to his side of the table (24:02 minutes in).
