The Copa America Centenario got off to a rocky start last night and it was a game to forget for Uruguay as they went down 3-1 to Mexico in Arizona.
The South America side were also subject to a gaffe before the game as their national anthem was mixed up with that of Chile.
Uruguay’s players had looked baffled as they lined up for their national anthem only for Chile’s anthem to be played by mistake.
"We sincerely apologize to the Uruguayan Federation, the Uruguay National Team, the people of Uruguay and to the fans for this mistake," a statement said, citing the mistake as "human error."
