WATCH: Everton fans vote strike from nine-year-old with cerebral palsy as the goal of the month

While Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku have been in great form for Everton in recent weeks, neither of them claimed the goal of the month award for Everton.

The prize, voted for by fans, went to nine-year-old George Shaw, who is a cerebral palsy sufferer. After a video of him playing football wearing a Gerard Deulofeu jersey went viral, the Spanish star invited him to the game as his guest, and George got the chance to take to the hallowed turf of Goodison Park.

In front of the cheering home crowd, he stuck the ball in the back of the net at the Gwladys Street End, and got into the running for the goal of the month award as a result.

The online poll, voted for by Everton fans, was a landslide win for George as he claimed 86% of the votes cast, beating efforts from Aaron Lennon and Kevin Mirallas, along with Barkley and Lukaku.

George will also be invited to the club's end of season awards in May as a result of his win, and told the club's official website that "I never thought I would win. I thought I’d come close because of all the support I’ve had but I can’t believe I won!".
