WATCH: Graeme McDowell lets the world know what he thinks of golf fans shouting stupid slogans

American fans at golf events, especially those in an around the tri-state area, are known for being a bit different to the average spectator that you might come across at an event such as The Open.

They are a bit more rambunctious than your average fan, engaging with the players or shouting "get in the hole" as the golfers hit their tee shots.

U.S. spectators in general also often exclaim the phrase "Baba Booey", the nickname given to Howard Stern Radio Show producer Gary Dell'Abate, for some reason, and it seems that Graeme McDowell is not the biggest fan of that particular phrase.

After he struck a shot on Friday afternoon, one fan in the background decided to yell that out again, and judging by the Portrush man's somewhat foulmouthed reaction, he doesn't care for it at all.

McDowell took to Twitter to apologise for his "French" as he put it, and confirm that he didn't think much of those who take to shouting catchphrases at the tee.

Given that McDowell missed the cut in New Jersey, at least he won't have to listen to the shouts for a while.
