WATCH: Irish Olympic hopeful finishes 2015 in Doha at the Champion of Champions event

It has been a 2015 to remember for Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe.

The 24-year-old became European Champion for the first time earlier this year, in Bath. As a result of that win, qualification for the Rio Olympics was assured along with a place at the prestigious Champion of Champions event in Doha.

A ninth place finish, from 18 starters was excellent preparation for the Olympic Games next year. You can see some of the action from Doha in the video below.

Arthur's best event in the Modern Pentathlon was the 200 metres swim where he finished fourth quickest. "I had a really good swim. My running was quite good and my fencing was good, compared to the preparation I had. I had a bit of an unlucky draw with a horse. He was quite crazy, but I got him around so I was happy with that. My shooting was just off par today."
