WATCH: It's a year since Wes Hoolahan's Euro 2016 goal

Where were you on June 13th last year?

At home? In work? With friends? In the bar? You may have even been in the Stade de France.

Tuesday marks the first anniversary of Ireland's Euro 2016 campaign beginning. A 1-1 draw with Sweden gave the team a strong start in Group E, ahead of games with Belgium and Italy.

After a scoreless first-half, the game opened up at the start of the second-half. Just over three minutes in, a cross on the right-wing from Seamus Coleman, fell to the foot of Wes Hoolahan.

We all know what happened next....

In years to come, Robbie Brady's header against Italy will be more widely remembered for beating Italy, and sending Ireland into the Round of 16.

Without Hoolahan's goal though, what happened in Lille against Italy may have been futile.

The Republic of Ireland scored three goals in four games at Euro 2016. It may not have been the most important, but Hoolahan's was certainly the best.
