WATCH: Paralympic medalist provides one of the most heartwarming moments of the Games

The Paralympic Games will be full of athletes overcoming adversity and obstacles over the next 11 days.

Wednesday night's Opening Ceremony saw what may become one of the defining moments of the Games as Marcia Malsar carried the Paralympic Torch in the Maracana, before the Cauldron was eventually lit.

Malsar, who was a Paralympian in 1984, winning a gold, silver and bronze in New York, fell while carrying the torch, before getting up straight away to continue her leg of the relay.

The Maracana crowd rose in support of the runner, who tried to push away help from two men nearby. Malsar will not be competing in Brazil, but she will be remembered as one of the stars of the Games.
