Serena Williams made history today, by claiming her 23rd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.
She now sits just one adrift of Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 singles titles, and is the oldest Grand Slam winner in the Open era at 35.
She defeated her older sister Venus in straight sets to claim the win and after the game, she received a special gift from basketball legend Michael Jordan.
While being interviewed on television, the presenters passed a mysterious box over to Williams. Williams confessed that she's not a fan of surprises before opening the box to find two pairs of Nike runners sent to her as a gift from Jordan.
The box also contained a personal letter which Williams read aloud on the set.
"Winning is hard, it takes years of hard work, mental toughness and a willingness to accept the fact that you hate to lose. Congratulations with much respect on winning number 23. It will be a privilege to keep watching your determination on the court. Your friend, Michael Jordan."
A delighted Serena Williams was later photographed while wearing the new runners.
