But it also had an impact across the Irish Sea where strong winds should be credited with a goal.
In an Isthmian league match between Thurrock and Romford, Thurrock defender Kamarl Duncan tried to clear the ball up the field.
However, the wind had other ideas and sent it looping back towards its own goal and ... for an own goal:
