After spending a year in the MMA wilderness, Ronda Rousey is back and her gaze is fixed on the belt she once possessed.
Ronda Rousey was once the undisputed champion of the women’s UFC bantamweight division. But one night in Melbourne last year, Holly Holm derailed the 29-year-old and arrested the belt.
Rousey then elected to take some time out from the sport. Meanwhile, the bantamweight belt changed hands twice more with Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes both winning title fights.
Speaking to TV host Ellen DeGeneres recently, Rousey confessed that her MMA career is approaching the end and it’s clear that reclaiming her belt is a goal she wants to complete before that time comes.
December 30th in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, is likely to be her last chance to do that. Nunes is a ferocious opponent with devastating boxing skills and a win against this Brazilian fighter would be a satisfying way for Rousey to bow out.

Whether or not she will get the fairytale ending she has in mind, remains to be seen.
