'Nigel Pearson hasn't spoken to me since December'

As the last few months of this season approached, it looked as if Leicester City were heading for an inevitable slide towards relegation.

But many seasons see a team suddenly rise from presumed ashes to avoid the drop and four wins in a row have given the Foxes a real chance of staying up.

The 1-0 victory over relegation rivals Burnley lifted Leicester out of the bottom three and BBC Leicester's Ian Stringer told Off The Ball that one moment stood out as the origin of the revival.

"In a game against West Ham United at home, the Foxes snatched a late winner through Andy King and that got them going. They went to West Brom on a very difficult day as the club commemorated the sad loss of Jeff Astle and won there, and then they beat Swansea at home last week. Then they beat Burnley and it's incredible to think that we're talking about four wins on the spin," he said, before touching on the manager, who has a famously poor rapport with the media.

"I've got a confession. Nigel Pearson hasn't spoken to me since December. We don't know [why] and that's an insight into the character of the man. It's public knowledge and we've discussed it on our airwaves. He is a very complex character - and I personally think an excellent football manager."
