You're going to need to do a lot of scrolling to locate Ireland in the FIFA rankings

Football's world-governing body, FIFA, have unveiled their latest World Ranking of Nations and despite a rise of two places for the Irish national team it still doesn't make for good reading.

The Republic of Ireland national team are now rated 60th in the world rankings and despite the progress, Martin O'Neil's side is still below countries like the Korea Republic, Albania and Iran.

Northern Ireland have fallen by two places in the rankings to 44th while England have fallen behind Costa Rica to 15th.

Belgium have made a significant jump in leapfrogging Argentina to be the second highest rated country behind World Cup holders, Germany. Belgium's rise to second means that the country are at their best rates position in its history.

Belgium reached the World Cup quarter finals this year only to be knocked out by Argentina and Player of the Tournament, Lionel Messi.

FIFA ranks its top ten footballing nations.
