Let’s Go Back To… is a Go Loud original podcast hosted by Off The Ball’s Eoin Sheahan and Sue Murphy that revisits our favourite films and TV shows and chats with a panel of guests about the film they return to over and over again.
What’s your favourite film or TV show? It’s not the easiest question to answer but maybe it’s the one you go back to watch over and over again. It’s the characters you’re willing to spend all that time with, the lines you can finish that you know off by heart and it’s the connection with that film or TV show that you alone feel. That just might be the best indicator.
This week, we're discussing a cult classic and its impact with comedian, Jarlath Regan. Ferris Bueller's Day off was a box office smash in the 1980's but it was more than that. It was a film about endings - the end of school, end of relationships and the beginning of your independent life. Ferris wanted to celebrate that moment in time and he did it in style.
Jarlath remembers the very moment he saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off for the first time and he recalls how it has changed with him over the years.
