Carla Rowe on Dublin's four in a row

Dublin star Carla Rowe joined Tuesday's OTB AM to discuss her team's victory over Cork in the Ladies' All-Ireland Football final on Sunday.

The victory was Dublin's fourth All-Ireland title in a row and remarkably, Rowe has now played in seven straight finals.

"I've been very lucky to stumble upon the team that I have," Rowe said.

"Every year that I have played with the senior team, we've got as far as an All-Ireland final."

A massive part of Dublin's success in those years has been their captain, Sinéad Aherne who is considering retirement over this off-season.

"She is one of a kind. There’s just no words for Sinéad," Rowe said.

"I only said it to her yesterday that she would have been and still is my role model in the team. The way she goes about her business and even just the natural football that’s oozing out of her.

"She’s a fantastic player and an even better person. She brought that team together and on some of the days when we were not going so well, she was able to single-handedly turn it around for us.

"She is a great person, great player and we’ll definitely give her the winter to think over her decision."

While Aherne considers her future, it was confirmed that fitness coach Ken Robinson will be leaving the Dublin set-up.

"I suppose you could see the shape we were in yesterday. Ephie Fitzgerald commented on our the strength and our pace and that’s just purely down to Ken," Rowe said.

"There was sometimes that we might not like seeing him in the winter with his cones, going out to do runs and strength work but without Ken you would be looking at a completely different team.

"The strength and conditioning is the basis for being able to go out and play that brilliant brand of football.

"I’d always have loved Ken and got on very well with him and he will be sorely missed in the team."
