Clinton Morrison lauds the pure "joy" of watching Liverpool's forward quartet

After Liverpool went 3-0 up on Spartak Moscow in the Champions League last night, Clinton Morrison was tempted to flick the channels over to another of the other matches.

But in the end, the former Ireland striker stayed the course as Liverpool wound up scoring four more goals with the Fab 4 of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah all on the scoresheet and dovetailing beautifully.

"In Coutinho, they've got a player who I could watch every minute of the day, he's that talented," said Morrison as he joined former team-mate Kevin Kilbane and Nathan Murphy on the Football Show last night.

"There was always that talk of [Coutinho] going to Barcelona and you would have your head turned by a big club like that but Liverpool have managed to keep a hold of him. They'll need him for the rest of the season - I think him along with Mo Salah. I think those two are the key players. Mo Salah's goals to game ratio since he signed for Liverpool has been first class and they've got four players, a front four that's a joy to watch. Every one is different. You've got movement, you've got pace, you've got people that can score goals.

"The goal that Coutinho scored where Mane plays it in to Salah and Salah plays it in to Firmino and most strikers in that position, I know I would have been in that position and would have gone for goal. But he squared it to Coutinho and he finishes it off. It's a joy to watch and that's the football that Liverpool are playing at the moment."

While some of that movement might be practiced on the training ground, he also feels it's like "four friends who get along really well" and that front four are as good as Manchester City going forward when they get it right.
