Daithi Regan cites Paul O'Connell as he sees something new about Galway

Daithi Regan had been very unsure of Galway ahead of their All-Ireland semi-final clash with Tipperary.

But the former Offaly All-Ireland winner feels he has seen something different in Anthony Cunningham's side after their classic victory at Croke Park yesterday.

Speaking to Off The Ball alongisde Tipp great Eoin Kelly tonight, Daithi noted a new-found resilience in the Galway ranks.

"For me, the most pertinent comment was afterwards when Joe Canning was interviewed - a very pragmatic young man - when it was put to him about Galway's response to the three goals, he held his hands up and he said 'prior to this we'd have folded' and prior to this they would have folded," he said.

"Yesterday there was something different about them and I know Paul O'Connell has said this many times: 'On a given day, if you're used to playing an opposition, you must bring something different and they must know it's different and yesterday there was something different about them."
